About this guide
ElectionForecast is a plain-language reference to how national elections work. For each of the 12 democracies covered you get the electoral system, the minimum voting age, the year of the latest national election covered here and the approximate turnout, along with a short explanation of how votes become seats or a president. The figures are curated by hand from official election commission reports and International IDEA rather than pulled from a live feed, so they change only when a new national election is added.
